Sierra 30th Anniversary Fritz & Ken’s Ale
Cheers to SN – 30 years! Make no mistake about it, this is a big stout, pitch black, mocha head, intense aroma. All of my favorite things about real stouts. The smell slaps you with coffee and chocolate, bitter before you even drink. The beer stings your tongue quickly, like a black cup of coffee – mild carbonation joins the party. Taste quickly shifts to burnt chocolate, toast, and a hint of hops. This is a fine tribute to two beer innovators, Fritz Maytag and Ken Grossman – either way, I’m sure as hell impressed, and hope they continue to make this beer (not likely). This is another beer that does fine by itself, but it could pair well with any cheese and crackers.
