Southern Tier Big Red Imperial Red Ale

The Southern Tier Big Red Imperial Red Ale is big and bold, with plenty of character.  It pours an amber color, mild white head, and the aroma is piney and bready.  The red ale has a light body, with light malty sweetness and slight hop flavor.  Alcohol flavor is mild, with the ABV at 9%.  The aftertaste is where the hop flavor truly explodes, like a pine forest, and with a slight oak-aged flavor.  With the alcohol and hop profile, this beer’s closest relative would be the Dogfish Head 90 Minute IPA, or the Victory Hop Wallop.

This is a wonderful beer, and would pair well a garlicy seafood dish, spaghetti and red sauce, pizza, or pate.

Cheers!
